Bridging Product, Data, and Operations: A Conversation with Chandler Wilson, Senior Product Owner

Nov 18, 2025

15-years’ experience in payment integrity and healthcare technology brings insights into how aligning systems, people, and strategy in Pareo® helps health plans turn data complexity into operational clarity.

When it comes to health plan payment integrity (PI), data doesn’t move in a straight line. It weaves through a complex network of systems, processes, and people.

Few understand that web better than Chandler Wilson, a long-time product owner at ClarisHealth whose career spans 15 years in healthcare technology and PI operations.

Having developed error detection algorithms, led agile product teams, and guided digital transformation projects for some of the nation’s largest health plans, Wilson sits at the intersection of product, client operations, and data strategy for the Pareo® platform.

Her focus today: ensuring that health plans can realize the full potential of Pareo as a connected operating platform across prepay and post-pay payment integrity.

In this candid conversation with director of community Amanda Bair, Chandler talks about…

    • What drew her to this work
    • How she approaches the evolving data challenges of PI
    • What practical lessons she’s learned from helping clients modernize their operations

Building Bridges in Payment Integrity: Q&A with Chandler Wilson

Amanda Bair: You’ve spent your entire career in payment integrity. What first drew you to ClarisHealth and the Pareo platform?

Chandler Wilson: I was recruited by Stef Foster, who explained what ClarisHealth was doing with Pareo. I’ve always worked in payment integrity — it’s been my whole professional life — so when I saw what Pareo could do, it felt like the right fit.

Honestly, Pareo is revolutionary when it’s used to its full advantage in payment integrity operations. It’s exciting to be part of something that’s changing the way health plans operate and helping them become more proactive and efficient. That sense of innovation is what’s kept me here.

AB: From your perspective, what’s one thing every payment integrity manager should know about data flow?

CW: Rarely do the upstream and downstream systems speak the same language. So much of our work comes down to data mapping: making sure the values we’re passing between systems mean the same thing on both sides.

That’s why it’s so important to bring the right technical and operational stakeholders to the table early. Someone who understands those languages can prevent a lot of frustration later. Something as small as a mapping mismatch can make it look like you’re not receiving recoveries when you actually are. Getting that alignment between systems — from intake to financial posting — is critical.

AB: You’ve led some large-scale digital transformation projects. What’s a lesson that’s shaped your approach?

CW: Communication. It sounds simple, but it changes everything. Being candid about what we’re trying to accomplish, how we’ll measure success, and what dependencies exist. Those conversations need to happen early and often.

It’s easy to overcomplicate transformation. But “back to basics” really does make a difference. When everyone shares the same context, you can move faster and with fewer surprises.

AB: What recent Pareo features are you most excited about?

CW: I’m really excited about My Inventory. From a management perspective, it’s powerful. But for users, it’s about focus — knowing exactly which audits or tasks to prioritize each day. It gives users confidence that they’re working on the right things and creates a real sense of order in their day-to-day workflow.

AB: For Pareo admins and superusers looking to maximize the platform, what’s your top tip?

CW: Always leverage your subject matter experts. If you’re running into an issue or want to make a process more efficient, there’s often already a solution; it just might be a matter of education or configuration. Engage your SMEs early and often. They can help you get the full value of Pareo without reinventing the wheel.

AB: Any overlooked Pareo features you think deserve more attention?

CW: Two, actually. The first is recovery posting: it’s a great tool for when you have recoveries that aren’t coming through in a file transfer. It lets you post dollars directly to the right provider or use case, even for unsolicited audit types. People forget it’s there because they default to file exchanges.

The second is vendor invoicing. We’ve made big improvements in that area. It gives health plans peace of mind knowing all transactions are captured for a specific period before invoicing vendors. It’s one of those foundational features that strengthens financial accuracy and trust.

AB: Outside of work, how do you unwind?

CW: My kids keep me busy — one of them plays three sports! But I’ve recently taken up needlepoint, which I love. It’s oddly relaxing. There’s something satisfying about methodically creating something beautiful — even if it’s just a set of coasters — after a day of working through data flows and process design.

Conclusion

With a career defined by both technical precision and practical empathy, Chandler Wilson brings a builder’s mindset to the world of payment integrity. Whether she’s mapping complex data integrations or coaching clients through transformation, her approach is grounded in the same principles that make Pareo powerful: clarity, alignment, and continuous improvement.
